Seema Biswas to Inaugurate 10th International Film Festival of Shimla
Shimla, 06.09.2024 - The 10th International Film Festival of Shimla (IFFS) will kick off with the Marathi film "Mrs. Tendulkar," starring National Award-winning actress Seema Biswas. Biswas will attend the opening ceremony to interact with the audience.
The festival runs from August 16th to 18th at Shimla's historic Gaiety Theater. Organized by Himalayan Velocity in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Himachal Pradesh Government, the event has grown significantly in popularity.
"Mrs. Tendulkar" tells the story of a retired widow in suburban Mumbai finding a new family. Biswas, renowned for her roles in "Bandit Queen" and "Water," will grace the inauguration.
This year's IFFS will feature films from 27 countries and 20 Indian states. The festival includes competitions in International, National, and State categories, along with film screenings, seminars, and workshops.
Sixty independent directors will present their works and engage with the audience over the three-day event.
Since its inception in 2015, IFFS has showcased a diverse array of documentaries, short films, feature films, animation films, music videos, and web series.
