BJP State Executive Committee and By-Election Review)...
I've been with the BJP for a long time, though I'm not very active right now because of some personal reasons.
I still support the party's core ideas. My connection with the BJP feels like my bond with our old family home in Dharampur, which we sold two decades ago.
Whenever I see that house, all my childhood memories come flooding back, just like reading about the BJP brings back memories of my time with the party.
There is a big difference between the BJP of my time and the BJP today.
Back then, the party focused on its workers, but now it seems more centered around leaders and office bearers.
Our state executive committee used to have 60 members, but now there are several hundred.
We used to have real discussions in those meetings, and everyone got to participate.
Now, it feels more like members are just there for convenience and to get guidance from leaders.
After elections, we always reviewed the results, and everyone could share their thoughts openly.
This was important because if workers don't get a chance to speak, they can become unhappy.
Recently, there was a BJP state executive committee meeting in Una.
The agenda included reviewing the party's defeat in six by-elections, which I think was necessary and good for the party.
If the workers had been involved in analyzing the results, the leadership would have gotten a clearer picture and a chance to identify and fix weaknesses.
However, according to a news report, there was no open discussion about the by-election results.
It was said that the concerned in-charges would submit reports instead. I believe reports cannot replace a proper review.
Without a thorough review, the party can't identify its weaknesses, which is crucial for preparing for the future and improving.
In the end, I believe it's important for the party to recognize and address its weaknesses to move forward effectively.
