SHIMLA- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has revealed an ambitious roadmap for improving transport facilities and road connectivity in the state.

The plans include the establishment of "Green Corridor" Highways .

Then there are Traffic cum Tourists Police Stations for road safety on the Highways, mainly mainly Kiratpur-Manali highway. They will give a quick response in case of road accident or so.

He has talked about an Advanced Traffic Management System with high-tech features.

 Under this, emergency call boxes along with high tech CCTV cameras, automatic traffic counter-cum-classifiers, Vehicle Actuated Speed Displays and Overhead Driver Feedback System, variable message sign, video incident detection system and Met device are also being installed.

Besides command and control centre at toll plaza and connectivity through optic fiber along NH.

He also directed to increase the number of display boards related to speed limits. He urged the National Highways Authority of India to provide financial assistance for the Integrated Command Center.

Additionally, a Road Safety Cell has been set up. An Inspection and Certification Centre will be established to ensure vehicle fitness.

Out of 147 black spots identified so far, around 117 have been improved and directions have been issued to fix up the remaining 30 such spots.

Stricter measures have also been implemented to address unauthorized buses entering the state.

The State Government has devised a legal mechanism to 'challan' of such buses. 

These initiatives aim to boost the economy, promote safe travel, and support balanced development.

When these measures will see the light of day depend upon how fast CM put its teams in place to speed up their implementation.
