SHIMLA: The traffic cops now look smarter and more visible in day and night hours in their sleeker half-sleeved traffic vests and in parka jackets in the freezing winters mainly in remote areas of Himachal.
DGP Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Kundu on Monday distributed the traffic vests and parka jackets to the district units at a programme organized at Police Headquarter here today.
This programmer was attended by the Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, DIG- Traffic Tourists & Railways along with other Police Officers of TTR.
Police personnel wearing the half-sleeved traffic vest can be seen easily by the drivers during the night and day while performing duties.
On the other, Parka Jackets will be helpful to police personals in performing duties in sub-zero (-10Cº) temperatures in mainly in remote areas of the state.
Police department has purchased 300 winter parka jackets and 500 half-sleeve traffic vests out of the financial assistance of Rs. 9.61Lakh provided by Indian Oil Corporation under 'Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme'.
