RECONGPEO(KINNAUR)- Union Power Minister, R.K. Singh, and Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, convened a high-level meeting late Thursday evening with senior officers from the Army and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) 17th Battalion.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the Northern border areas and review the progress of key development projects.
During the meeting, the officers presented a comprehensive overview of the situation in the Northern border areas, shedding light on security concerns and border management strategies.
Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur, Torul S. Raveesh delivered a presentation on the Vibrant Village Programme, which is currently being implemented in District Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti.
This program aims to foster rural development and uplift the villages in these districts.
Deputy Commissioner Raveesh highlighted the various opportunities and challenges faced in both regions, offering a comprehensive understanding of the ground realities to the dignitaries.
They also reviewed 450 MW Shongtong Karcham power project and sought to meet its milestones.
The meeting proved to be an instrumental platform to address crucial matters pertaining to the Northern border areas.
