SHIMLA: The commission agents ensure officials in a meeting here today they will cooperate with farmers who produced their products under the Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana.
In Himachal Pradesh, the State Implementation Unit of Natural Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana, Marketing Board and Arhatiyas and traders will work together. They will ensure that chemical-free natural farming products get good buyers in the market and sell them properly.
In order to provide fair market to the products of natural farming started three and a half years ago in the state, a meeting was organized on Tuesday in Peterhof, Shimla.
The meeting was chaired by Agriculture Secretary and State Project Director of Pratikriti Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana, Rakesh Kanwar. All the stakeholders gave their consent to cooperate in promoting natural farming products in the market.
Agriculture Secretary said that so far 1 , 71 , 063 farmers and Bagwans have joined this farming in the state. There is a need to market their products.
Under the scheme, work is being done to allot space in 10 mandis of the state to provide proper market to the products of these farmers. Apart from this, the work of branding of farmers' products is also being done under the scheme.
He assured the arhtiyas and traders that the natural farming products would be transported to the mandis with complete transparency , credibility , authenticity and branding , which would make it easier for the traders to sell them further.
MD of Marketing Board, Naresh Thakur said they visited other states and only after learning it properly, the scheme was implemented here. But today, after three and a half years, we have surpassed even those states and the Prime Minister has praised Himachal Pradesh on a big platform, he added.
He said that the Marketing Board has earmarked 10 mandis of the state: Mehndi, Tapri , Dharampur , Namhol , Palampur , Bhuntar , Dhanotu , Una and Paonta Sahib for the products of natural farming farmers.
During the meeting, he instructed the Mandi Secretaries of 8 districts to prepare arrangements for the sale of natural farming products on priority basis.
The arhtiyas suggested that there should be a separate mark and packaging for natural farming products. At the same time, many traders talked about giving place to natural farming products in all the mandis.
The officers , farmers , traders and arhtiyas from different districts gave valuable suggestions in preparing the market system for natural farming products.
