In a virtually ceremony Narender Modi had a direct virtual meeting with some of the beneficiaries and Chief Minister Tripura Biplav Kumar Deb, Union Minister and officials of the state and central governments. As many as 1.47 lakh beneficiaries in rural areas of Tripura got Rs 709 crore in their bank accounts under the PMAY-G, says the Prime Minister.
“We are working with a vision of sabka sath, sabka vikas and sabko awas and several amendments were made in the PMAY-G for Tripura to make sure that benefits reach all”, he says. This has fulfilled dream of people getting a pucca house in Tripura, he says in twits.
Congratulating the beneficiaries Modi interacts with them directly through the virtual platform and sought their inputs.
Deb claimed the selection was transparent, survery was unbiased and benefits were directly transferred, the three main pillars of the PMAY-G in Tripura. “We are working tirelessly to transfer the benefits of central schemes directly to the people”, he says.
The officials worked on the architecture of the houses to be built in Tripura under the PMAY-G keeping the geo-climatic and land conditions in mind. The scheme has benefited 50,000 families in Tripura and construction of 1.6 lakh houses have been approved, say the officials.
Deb thanked Prime Minister and congratulated beneficiaries saying that the government has been working tirelessly to ensure that benefits of PMAY-G reach the needy in the rural areas.
PMAY-G entails the geo-tagging house surveys and direct benefit transfer (DBT) among other benefits.
In the northeast, Tripura has been adjudged as the best performing state under the PMAY-U by the government of India. “We will work with the same energy to do the same for PMAY-G as well, Deb says. Ends
