SHIMLA: Apart from directing the Ayush officers to convert the Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate College, Paprola into All India Institute of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences, the Industry and Ayush Minister, Harshvardhan Chauhan said the efforts should be made to use Panchkarma in HPTDC tourism hotels to facilitate tourists in the state.
Addressing the review meeting of AYUSH department here today, Chauhan asked them to explore possibilities of Panchkarma in the hotels of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation having good occupancy.
The staff should be well trained for imparting quality treatment to the visitors, he said.
Not only it will provide added income but will strengthen tourism in the State as well, he added.
Besides, the department was directed to identify suitable land for developing Integrated Wellness Centres in the State.
The Minister directed to expedite the proposal of converting the Paprola Ayurvedic college into the Ayurvedic Medical Sciences manned by the Union Ministry.
He said that for proper utilization of the services of specialist doctors and the rationalization of existing human resources should be done.
For this, PG Ayurvedic Medical Officers serving in AYUSH Health Centres can be utilized to AYUSH Hospitals.
He said Ayurvedic Pharmacies in the State should be upgraded by strengthening it with adequate manpower.
The production of ayurvedic medicines in the State could be increased in different drug manufacturing units of the department so that the State becomes self-sufficient and profit making units, he added.
