SHIMLA: Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today motivated the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Beolia near Shimla to read books.
Governor visited the school, interacted with them and taught them to develop good habits and read books. He asked them to acquire knowledge by reading books and sharing it with others.
He said that books were their true friends, which paved the way for them to move forward in life.
“We get all kinds of information about the country and the world from books”, he said and added that they should read the biographies of great personalities.
He said that reading a book would also create interest in reading more books.
He also gave them books based on biographies of great personalities and asked them to share their experiences with him through letters after reading them.
Later, the Governor held a meeting with the teachers and directed them to motivate the children to read books.
He said that it was the responsibility of all of us to make available books other than textbooks to the students so that they develop a sense of reading.
On the occasion, Nisha Bhaluni, Principal of the school apprised the governor about the activities of the school.
