SHIMLA: Governor, Shiv Pratap Shukla urged people to unite against drug abuse to vigorously carry forward the campaign against drugs to make Himachal a drug-free State.
He said this during his visit to the de-addiction center at Raghunath Ka Padhar in Mandi, today.
"There may be delay in this work but it is not difficult. With everyone's cooperation, we can certainly achieve success in de-addiction campaign," said the Governor.
Shri Shukla said that the State Government is working comprehensively against drugs and as a Governor, he has taken the responsibility to make Himachal drug-free by connecting everyone in this campaign.
Similarly, Himachal has to be made TB free by being a part of the Prime Minister TB Free India campaign, he added.
The Governor interacted with the patients in the center. On the feedback of the patients, the Governor expressed concern over some of the privately run de-addiction centers and directed the Deputy Commissioner to monitor and keep a vigil on such centers.
Earlier, the Governor also visited zonal hospital Mandi. He visited Intensive Care Unit, Causality OPD and HANS Renal Care Center and inquired about the well-being of the patients.
Expressing happiness, he said that the District Red Cross is providing facilities like digital X-ray, ECG and ambulance to the patients.
Local MLA Anil Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
