SHIMLA: In a humanitarian gesture to demonstrate his "Sukh Ki Sarkar" for common people, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu cancelled his official chopper tour and instead deployed it to airlift a serious patient from snowbound Killar in tribal Pangi to Tanda Medical college for treatment.
The Chief Minister has directed the hospital authorities to treat the patient free of cost and providing him every possible assistance.
He said the government is strengthening the health facilities in remote and tribal regions of the State.
Pritam Lal, the brother of the patient, has thanked the Chief Minister whom he termed as 'saviour' for their family for saving the life of his brother, in a video message.
The Chief Minister has been in the limelight for his compassion towards the needy and destitute since he has assumed the office of the Chief Minister.
State government constituted Chief Minister's Sukh Ashraya Sahayata Kosh with an outlay of Rs. 101 crore so that the facility of higher education could be provided to needy children and destitute women.
Later he also announced, to provide Rs 500 as festive allowance to the students and a host of other measures for the destitute.
