SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar today complimented Lawrence School Sanawar for celebrating its landmark commemoration ceremony of 175th year of excellence, saying that the school is celebrating its 175 years at a time when India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Presiding over the historic ceremony, Arlekar said Sanawar has given high level students to the country and the world who have brought laurels to the school by holding important positions in every field. The values, discipline and ideals that they get from the school have been given back by the students to the society, he said.
Arlekar said the students remain in constant touch with their teachers, so it is the duty of a teacher to instill moral values as well as the feeling of nationalism in them. The school environment creates greater impact on overall development of students, he said.
The Governor urged the school management to follow the National Education Policy 2020. “The school has its own traditions, but the National Education Policy would prove helpful in making more qualitative contributions in the lives of the students here. They should organize conferences in the school on this subject”.
The Governor also released school magazines and commemorative medals on the occasion.
