India’s new shining Wushu star on the block, Sadia Tariq from Jammu and Kashmir has won the prestigious Gold medal by trouncing Russian champion in the ongoing Moscow Wushu Stars Championships being held from February 22 to February 28 in Russia.

Sadia Tariq, 15, is Kashmiri Golden girl who has brought back home Wushu gold medal for India. She studies in 10th class, Sadia is a two-time India's national champion. She has won accolades and bouquets from the sporting fans from across the country for her achievements. 
Sadia along with her national coach Kuldeep Handoo, who also hails from Kashmir, have got kudos from the Wushu lovers of India for their feat in Russia.
Sadia said her next port of call is to prepare for the Asian and Olympics Championships and to give her best to bring medals for India.  
Suave, humble and unassuming Sadia has become a national celebrity in her own right because of her amazing Wushu martial art skills and acrobatics. Sadia said children must be allowed to choose their careers and not be pushed against their will to be doctors and engineers.

Sadia said she developed fascination for Wushu while watching its videos on social media, TV and other platforms and wanted to pursue it as her passion. Her parents supported her, spent on providing her facilities and supported her while she went out to contest in various competitions in the country.  

The girl from the Himalayan state has shown her class and has earned name and fame for her acrobatic and martial art skills by defeating champions from Maharashtra and Haryana, the states which once dominated the Wushu in India.      
Prime Minister Narender Modi and various leaders from the country, Jammu and Kashmir have poured their praises and good wishes and congratulated Sadia for winning the Gold medal in Russia today.  

Fatima Dar, social activist said by wearing Tiranga  on her chest, the talented golden girl from Kashmir representing the nation and  international platforms, has  brought laurels  to India.

Like KungFu, Wushu is a both soft and hard martial art. Now it is a full-fledged sport in the world. The rules and regulations have been institutionalized by International Wushu Federation (IWUF), a governing body which has been recognized by International Olympic Committee. The sports traced its history dating back to thousands of years in China, which is its home.
