Shimla | March 8, 2025: A century of excellence,

a legacy of leadership, and an unshakable Edwardian spirit—St. Edward’s School, Shimla, stepped into its 100th year with a grand inaugural ceremony, setting the tone for a year-long celebration of its glorious journey.

The school, which has shaped generations of leaders, thinkers, and achievers, kicked off its Centenary Celebrations on March 8, 2025, with a grand event graced by none other than Ambassador Manpreet Vohra, an illustrious Edwardian and one of India’s most distinguished diplomats.

With a stellar career as India’s High Commissioner to Australia, Belize, and Kenya, and Ambassador to Mexico, Afghanistan, Peru, and Bolivia, Vohra embodies the Edwardian values of excellence, service, and leadership—the very essence of this institution.

A Celebration of Legacy and Achievement

The day wasn’t just about looking back—it was about celebrating the present and inspiring the future. A felicitation ceremony honored outstanding student achievers, while the unveiling of 'Centenary Tales'—a book capturing the literary and artistic expressions of students—added a creative touch to the event.

School Manager Fr. Dexen Antony released the book, calling it a tribute to Edwardian creativity and innovation.

The energy in the air was infectious as former Edwardians took the stage, sharing memories of their school days in an interactive session. Some joined virtually, sending in heartfelt video messages that took everyone down memory lane.

But the real showstopper? The unveiling of the new school logo by Ambassador Vohra—a symbolic nod to the school’s incredible journey and its vision for the future.

A Legacy That Speaks for Itself

Over the past 100 years, St. Edward’s has given the world some of its finest minds. The who’s who of Edwardian alumni reads like a hall of fame:

Hamid Ansari – Former Vice President of India

Ajay Banga – President of the World Bank

Ashok Mangotra (IAS) – Former Bureaucrat

Maj. Gen. Neville Rasquinha – Senior Army Officer

Col. Rajeev Kapoor & Col. Arvind Good – Decorated Defence Personnel

Saleem Qureshi & Ashok Gupta – Eminent Professionals

These names aren’t just accomplishments; they are testimonies to the Edwardian way—discipline, character, and an unwavering commitment to service.

The Journey Continues

With the school gearing up for its Founder’s Day celebrations on March 9, 2025, the centenary events are more than just a milestone; they are a reaffirmation of St. Edward’s unwavering commitment to academic brilliance, moral integrity, and service to society.

As the school marches into its next century, one thing remains certain: Once an Edwardian, always an Edwardian—bound by tradition, driven by excellence, and committed to making the world a better place.

Here’s to 100 years of legacy—and many more to come!
