SHIMLA: As many 1200 youths have been trained through DISHA centres of ACC Ltd that have enabled them to gain sustainable livelihoods in Himachal Pradesh.
This DISHA initiative of the company has come as welcome effort to make youth trained and employable.
But locals mainly in Barmana have been complaining about pollution from the chimney of the cement plant in the nearby villages.
The nano particles emitted from the cement plant impacts on their crops and health, but the company and state pollution control board have failed to solve their problem.

According to the spokesperson of the company, ACC Limited is the cement and building materials arm of Adani Cement and part of the Adani Group.
As a part of the community development initiative, the company has launched various initiatives for the youth through its outreach programmes.

Piyusha chose a retail sales course in June 2022 and is employed as a Customer Relation Officer at Airtel in Sundarnagar.
