SHIMLA- The government of Himachal Pradesh wants to promote the unique products under a program called 'One District One Product' (ODOP) where each district selects and promotes one special product.
This is meant to bring balanced development to all districts of the state.
The Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, announced the creation of Unnati Mall to support this idea.
The products will be chosen based on what is already being made in each district. They will organize exhibitions and provide training to support the program at the state and district level. The mall will have special products from Himachal Pradesh, including handicrafts and other items from the state and other places.
Himachal Pradesh is known for its beautiful handicrafts like woodwork, embroidery, and carpets. They also have special products like Kullu Shawls, Kangra Tea, and Chamba Rumal.
These products show the skill and creativity of the local artisans. The Chief Minister wants to promote these products and make them popular.
During the G20 Summit held in Dharamshala, the government showcased the state's products, and people from other countries liked them a lot.
They were particularly interested in Thangka paintings and the fine shawls made in Himachal Pradesh.
