Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has become a manufacturing hub, especially in pharmaceuticals and textiles," said Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as the Exim Bank presented its export strategy today.
He pointed out that state exports have surged by 62%, from Rs. 9,822 crore in 2019-20 to Rs. 17,543 crore in 2022-23, with pharmaceuticals and textiles contributing 80% of these exports.
Himachal ranks 15th in overall export preparedness and second among Himalayan states.
The state is developing a medical device park in Nalagarh and a bulk drug park in Una, and plans incentives for industrial units in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrialcorridor.
Exim Bank’s MD Harsha Bangani pledged financial support for various sectors. Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar and other officials attended the event.
