MANDI: Indian Institute of Technology Mandi is starting a two- year full-time MBA program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from fall of September 2022.
This program aims at preparing future-ready business leaders equipped with technological and management knowledge.
It will integrate contemporary management concepts, soft skills for business leaders.
The program will offer them a wide range of data science tools that will arm them with problem-solving and managerial decision-making.
This program differs from other technology-oriented programs like B.Tech., M.Tech/MS. It focuses on the integration of data science and artificial intelligence into various business and management domains.
IIT Mandi Director Prof. Laxmidhar Behera said the program aligns with IIT Mandi’s motto and strives to produce future-ready management leaders to tackle industry and academic challenges.
He said the program will position students to transform data into better business decisions.
It helps them identify areas of business where Data Science, Artificial intelligence, and Machine Learning can add value. “It will provide inputs to algorithm developers and data analysts”, Dr Behra said.
The MBA in Data Science and AI is open to undergraduate students of all backgrounds who have studied mathematics at the +2 level.

The application process will start on 29th June 2022 and will conclude by 17th July 2022, stated IIT Mandi spokesperson.
IIT Mandi has roped experts from diverse backgrounds and experiences from academic institutions- Indian Institutes of Management and the IITs to prepare curriculum.
Courses would be taught by internal and external subject experts.
The School of Management is actively seeking collaboration with other management institutes within and outside India for its academic and research programs.
Data science will be the backbone of the competitive advantage for the industry going forward.
The competitive edge will be gained by leveraging data-based decision making.
The industry is already moving in this direction. It will need a large data science skilled workforce for application in business and strategy issues relevant to business organizations.
Graduates of this program will find rewarding managerial-level work opportunities in consulting, analytics, and decision-making roles, said the IIT.
