Shimla: A five-story building owned by Raj Kumar in the Dhami area, just outside Shimla city, collapsed today.
The vacant structure had been under observation after developing cracks and sinking, prompting its evacuation. Officials attribute the building's instability to construction activities in the uphill area.
The collapse occurred in a dramatic fashion, resembling a deck of cards, and obstructed the Dhami road.
Swift action by the local administration and law enforcement led to a temporary halt in traffic, with debris promptly cleared to restore normalcy on the road.
