SHIMLA: In a tragic accident, Vetri Duraisamy, the son of a former Mayor of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, 44 remains missing after a car accident near Kashang Nalah in District Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh.
The incident occurred on February 4th, 2024, when an Innova car, bearing registration number HP 01 AA-1111, lost control and rolled down from the highway into the Satluj River, revealed the police.
They were on their way to Shimla from Kinnaur.
Family members of Vetri has informed DC Kinnaur that they would give Rs one Crore as reward to find Yetri.
Despite immediate response from the authorities, including the SHO of Reckong Peo Police Station and a Quick Response Team (QRT), only one person, identified as Gopi Nath, was rescued from the river and rushed to Regional Hospital, Reckong Peo.
Tragically, the driver, Tanjin, was found dead under the badly smashed vehicle.
However, Vetri Duraisamy remains missing, suspected to have been swept downstream by the icy strong river's current.
Search efforts involved teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police, Home Guards, ITBP, Army, and Navy special divers. Despite the extensive search, Vetri Duraisamy's whereabouts remain unknown.
Additionally, forensic evidence, including remains suspected to be parts of Vetri Duraisamy's body, has been collected and sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory for DNA analysis.
As the search continues to find Vetri Duraisamy.
