SHIMLA: CPI(M) senior leader and Theog legislator Rakesh Singha today lashed out at the BJP government saying that it has failed to regulate the import of foreign apples, failed to resolve issues of “old pension and new pay-scales and outsourced employees in the state. Singha has threatened to gherao the Vidhan sabha session starting from February 23.
Speaking at a press conference here Rakesh Singha said the state government is not sensitive towards the general public and the employees. The government is deliberately hanging the issues of the employees and is still confused about the employees’ new pay-scales. It should solve the issues of the employees and give relief to the general public, he demanded.
Singha said the government should remove anomalies in the salary of the employees and should restore old pension, which the employees have been demanding over the period of time in the state.
On the issue of farmers and apple growers, Singha said apples are being imported from outside the country due to which the horticulturists of Himachal Pradesh are facing various problems as the BJP government at Centre has failed to bridle the import.
He said he would gherao the government in the budget session over the formation of Swaran Aayog commission, policy for outsource employees, expulsion of 102 and 108 employees, discrepancies in new pay scale, implementation of OPS and issues of the apple farmers.
He said the outsourced employees are being exploited continuously in the state. A committee has been formed by the government to make policy for outsourced employees, but 102 and 108 ambulance employees, who have more than 10 years in service, are being removed. They are continuously on strike for their demands, he said.
He said the government has formed a committee in the last assembly session on old pension, but till date no decision has been taken by that committee.
He said that the left governments have been giving old pension continuously to the employees. But as soon as the BJP government comes, it abolished this pension in every state and the employees were denied old pension, he charged.
He said he has sought two schools on MLA priority, but the government is not able to give that money, it is being transferred to other places”.
