Nahan: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a relief package of Rs. 9.88 crore for the rehabilitation of 1388 families affected by disasters in Sirmaur district.

The Chief Minister distributed funds for damaged houses, cow sheds, and assistance to other affected individuals.

Taking a swipe at the previous BJP government, CM Sukhu highlighted financial mismanagement and a substantial loan taken in 2022-23.

He outlined the current government's commitment to resource generation, making the state self-reliant in four years, and aiming to become the most prosperous state in the next decade.

Sukhu discussed upcoming projects, including the initiation of work on the Renuka Dam and negotiations with the Central Government on funding for the Kishau Hydroelectric Project.

He also emphasized efforts to increase royalties in hydro power projects for state revenue.

Addressing concerns about the Hatti community's tribal status, Sukhu clarified the government's stance after seeking clarification from the Centre.

The Chief Minister criticized the BJP for alleged corruption in the HP Staff Selection Commission and highlighted the government's steps to ensure transparency in recruitment processes.

Highlighting achievements in the first year, Sukhu mentioned the restoration of the old pension scheme, the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Ashray Yojana for orphan children, and the Rs. 680 crore Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Yojna.

He also spoke about the challenges faced during the natural calamity in 2023 and the government's efforts to secure financial assistance.

Sukhu concluded by addressing local demands, announcing road and bridge projects, and emphasizing his commitment to the region's development.
