SHIMLA:  Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today  in Banjraru in Chamba  rebutted Aam Aadmi Party  Convener Arvind Kejriwal’s “Nakalchi” barbs against him in Chambi rally on April 23,  saying that people of the  Devbhoomi will not tolerate Kejriwal for the “Foul language used for its leaders”.

Addressing the public meeting at Banjraru in Churah segment of Chamba district, Jai Ram Thakur tore into Kejriwal  saying  that it is strange that a person (Kejriwal) living in air-conditioned rooms in Delhi, who has no understanding of tradition and culture of Himachal, is speaking about development model for the State.

“The people of the State are wise enough and will not get carried away by Kejriwal’s false promises”, he added.  Jai Ram Thakur along with Kangra MP and BJP Gaddi leader Kishan Kapur and local BJP  MLAs along with cadre queered the political pitch in the Churah and attacked AAP and Congress.  

Degree College at Masroond in Chamba

After dedicating developmental projects worth about Rs. 146 crore for Churah constituency of Chamba  district, Thakur announced a Degree College at Masroond near Kotla area, a Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Tissa, PHCs at Bairagarh and Kohal and other schools. The parking will also be constructed at Banjraru to facilitate the people of the area, added.

Chief Minister said he has initiated  developmental projects worth Rs. 146 crore in Churah. It is a befitting reply to the people, who are questioning the unprecedented development in the State, he said.

Thakur said the state government is dedicating each hour for development and welfare of its people. Congress remained in power for long in the State, but they did little new to ensure welfare of the weaker sections of the society, he claimed.

Thakur said Congress leaders are not even able to digest the welfare scheme initiated by his Government. By terming the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes as ‘Sponger’ (Muftkhors) is indeed a disrespect to the poor and the needy, he remarked.

Jai Ram Thakur Attacks Congress on Freebies  

Talking about freebies he announced on Himachal Day, Thakur said Congress is not digesting that people will get 125 units of power free and women will get 50 per cent concession in fare in HRTC buses and rural people will get no water bill hence onwards.  

Chief Minister also inaugurated 10 developmental projects worth Rs. 48.77 crore- Rs. 3.13 crore Jhajakathi to Matiyund road, Rs. 11.20 crore Kalash Sameep Kakhri to Seu  road, Rs. 3.26 crore upgradation of Kella Dugali Dand road Sausad, Rs. 16.02 crore upgradation of Tissa Satyas road, Rs. 4.15 crore of Bhurah to Mangli road  and other roads, bridges and other projects.

Chief Minister also laid foundation stones of 14 developmental projects for the constituency worth about Rs. 97 crore which includes Rs. 23.83 crore Lift Water Supply Scheme for Gram Panchayats Kandla, Pukhri, Dular, Sirkundi, Keyana and a host of other schemes.

Chief Minister was honoured by various social, political and cultural organizations and garlanded statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee there.

BJP Gaddi Leader Attacks Kejriwal

Kangra Lok Sabha MP and BJP Gaddi leader, Kishan Kapoor attacked Kejriwal, who was honoured at Chambi by the Camba's Gaddi community and they also performed  Gaddi dance there. "People should be not carried away by the false propaganda of AAP leader, Kapur said. 

He said that the Delhi Chief Minister claims that he is an honest and common man, but he air-dashed in chattered plane for the Chambi rally at Shahpur in Kangra district yesterday.    

Kapur claimed Government of India has also selected Chamba for its ambitious aspirational district programme. It has ensured adequate funds for development of the district, he said.

Deputy Speaker State Vidhan Sabha and local MLA Dr. Hans Raj said Chief Minister has given special focus on development of backward and tribal areas and every section of the society are getting benefits of the welfare policies and programmes.
