Shimla: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur Monday charged that Congress leaders in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh claimed to have fulfilled their 10 guarantees in the first 10 months, but he countered this assertion during campaigns.
Jai Ram expressed concerns about the Chhattisgarh model, which the present Himachal Pradesh government aims to implement, alleging that Chhattisgarh witnessed various scams under Bhupesh Baghel, including coal, liquor, cow dung, and Mahadev App scams.
Addressing press conference here today, Jai Ram questioned the utilization of funds from these scams in the elections in Himachal Pradesh, emphasizing the need for investigation.
Highlighting issues in Rajasthan, Jai Ram mentioned the Lal Diary where a Congress minister documented government scams, leading to the minister's removal.
Additionally, he pointed out 19 paper leak cases in Rajasthan, raising questions about the Congress party's claims of a successful model, he charged.
Attributing the victories in the three states to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's charisma and the public's faith in promises, Jairam stated that the upcoming general elections in 2024 would mark the beginning of another decade under PM Modi's leadership.
Reflecting on the post-election scenario, Jai Ram revealed that the Legislative Party meeting witnessed a somber atmosphere, contrasting the Congress Party's upcoming one-year celebration with the lack of festivities in Himachal Pradesh.
