SHIMLA: As many as 160 participants including Supreme Court and High Court Judges and Judicial Officers from across the country are likely to participate in the two days long North Zone-II regional conference on “Contemporary Judicial Developments and Strengthening Justice Through Law & Technology” starting on 30th April, 2023 at Peter Hoff Shimla.
The participants would from High Courts of Delhi, Punjab & Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
The conference is being organised by High Court of Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with National Judicial Academy, Bhopal.
The conference aims at providing a forum for exchange of knowledge, experiences and dissemination of best practices among participants.
The conference is designed to promote dialogue between participant judges amongst judicial hierarchies.
The themes of the conference include Contemporary Trends in Constitutional Law, Precedential Value of High Court Judgments, Development in Criminal Law, Overview of eCourts Project and Emerging and Future Technology for Effective Judicial Governance.
The conference will include five sessions, out of which three sessions will be held on 29.04.2023 and two on 30.04.2023.
There will be interactive sessions to allow judges from different jurisdictions in a region to share experiences on key issues, develop new ideas, insights and adjudication methods.
The Resource Persons will include sitting and retired Judges of the Supreme Court of India and Sitting and retired Chief Justice and Judges of High Courts and subject/domain experts.
