SHIMLA: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that all the formalities of re-constitution of Rajya Sainik Board and State Management Committee should be completed soon so that all matters pertaining to ex-servicemen and their complaints were can be dealt with expeditiously.
While reviewing the works of Himachal Pradesh Sainik Welfare Department at Raj Bhavan today, he said Department of Sainik Welfare is playing a vital role in looking after the rehabilitation and welfare of ex-servicemen, war widows, world war veterans, disabled soldiers and their dependents and families of serving soldiers, said the Governor.
The facility of 15 percent reservation has been provided for the recruitment of ex-servicemen in class III and IV in various departments of the State, he added.
"The department needs to work more diligently in providing information about the armed forces to the general public and also disseminate the welfare measures being undertaken to increase the interest of youth in the forces" said Sh. Shukla
He added that several schemes were being implemented by the Central and State Governments for the welfare of the ex-servicemen.
Brig. Madansheel Sharma, Director, Himachal Pradesh Sainik Welfare Department made a presentation on the works of the department.
Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to Governor was also present on the occasion.
