MANDI: Atal Medical and Research University, Mandi at Nerchowk (AMRU) has detected that an applicant Kartic Sharma, who was allotted a seat in Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla during the 1st round of the counseling has forged his documents at the time of counseling.
Though the university claimed it has initiated action against the candidate, but no FIR was lodged so far, sources said.
According to the spokesperson of AMRU, Counseling for the MBBS/BDS Medical Courses was conducted by the university on behalf of Himachal Pradesh Government.
The counseling was conducted as per the direction of the Counseling Committee headed by Director, Medical Education and Research, Shimla.
He said that it has come to the knowledge of the University that the applicant had forged his documents.
He said that at the time of counseling AMRU invited applications from suitable candidates.
Their details i.e. NEET roll number NEET marks are checked by university as per the NEET data made available to University by Assistant Director General (ME), Health and Family Welfare, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.
As per the prospectus the physical verification of documents is to be done by the concerned college at the time of admission.
After the verification of documents at the college level the same has to be uploaded by the college on NMC Portal.
In this particular case the Dealing Assistant looking after the admission process in IGMC, Shimla informed the Programmer, AMRU that the details of the above-mentioned candidate could not be uploaded on the portal.
On receiving this information, the Programmer, AMRU checked the NEET data and QR code of the NEET score card and found that the documents may have been forged by Kartic Sharma.
The same was informed to the Dealing Assistant of IGMC and was asked to report to the Principal, IGMC, Shimla.
He said that during initial scrutiny of the documents of the applicants/candidates by the University the NEET roll number and marks obtained by the candidate were matched with the data provided by Assistant Director General (ME), Health and Family Welfare, Delhi.
In this case also the NEET roll number and the marks were matched with what was uploaded on the portal by the candidate hence no ambiguity was noticed at that stage.
He said that the Controller of Examinations, AMRU also spoke to the Principal, IGMC regarding the issue and asked her to recheck all the documents of the Kartic and report to Police for further necessary action.
The rest of the action against the candidate has been initiated by IGMC, Shimla, university claimed.
