MANDI/SHIMLA- All medical officers in Mandi district observed a pen-down strike for more than an hour in OPD hours in support of restoration of NPA of the newly appointed doctors in Himachal Pradesh.
However, emergency services have not been affected by the strike.
In a meeting at Circuit House, Dr. Amit Thakur, President of HMOA Mandi, discussed the issues and challenges faced by medical officers with Smt. Pratibha Singh, MP of Mandi.
The MP assured that the rights of medical officers would be protected and their grievances would be addressed by the government.
Various organizations within Himachal Pradesh and AIF-GDA Punjab have shown their support for the medical fraternity in the state.
Yesterday, State Minister Sh. Harshvardhan Chauhan met with a delegation from JAC-HMOA and assured them that the issue would be discussed and resolved with the Chief Minister's approval by June 3, 2023.
In response to this, the HMOA has decided to reduce the duration of the pen-down strike to 45 minutes, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM.
The CSA and RDA of all medical colleges have also expressed their support for the HMOA pen-down strike, particularly regarding the disclosure of NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) to new doctors.
