Shimla- Himachal Pradesh government has launched 'Mukhya Mantri Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojna (MMVPY)' scheme to help meritorious students pursue higher education.
The scheme offers education loans of up to Rs. 20 lakh at a low interest rate of one percent. Eligible students from Himachal Pradesh with a family income of less than Rs. 4 lakh per year can apply.
The loans can be used to cover expenses such as tuition fees, books, and accommodation. The scheme covers various professional courses, including engineering, medicine, law, and more. The state government has allocated Rs. 200 crore for this initiative.
Students can apply online, and the loans will be disbursed through authorized banks. The aim is to ensure that talented students are not deprived of education due to financial constraints and to support their journey towards a successful future.
