MANDI, 18th November 2024: Ashish Vaidya, a tech innovator from Mandi has carved a niche for himself in the world of Artificial Intelligence.
He is currently a Principal Engineer at Amazon USA, leading innovations for Alexa Audio.
Ashish completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mandi, and graduated from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, in 2008 with a degree in Information Technology.
He secured admission to NITK with an impressive state rank of 53 in AIEEE.
He began his career at Novell Inc., where he filed his first patent early on.
Over the years, Ashish has secured four granted patents in the United States (US 9224126B2, US 9088491B2, US 9513783B1, US 10506075B1).
His patents cover innovations in cloud systems, distributed decision-making, and user interface optimization.
At Amazon, Ashish has contributed to Prime Video, Social Media Ads, and Alexa. He now leads Alexa Audio, overseeing millions of daily user requests for music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
Ashish is recognized as a global leader in AI and Generative AI. He has received honors such as Senior Membership in IEEE and Fellowship of the British Computer Society.
He is also widely regarded as a top voice in programming on LinkedIn.
He has written a book titled *“Hello World: Student to Software Professional”* to guide young engineers. His talks on Responsible AI reflect his dedication to ethical innovation.
Ashish credits his success to his roots in Mandi, where he learned resilience and resourcefulness.
“Growing up in a small town taught me to make the most of limited resources. Those lessons shaped my career,” he said.
He expresses gratitude to his mother, Rajkumari Vaidya, his late father, Lokesh Vaidya, and his wife, Shelja Chadda, for their constant support.
