Out of the 15 students selected for Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Bombay, Abhay is the only student from North India. Moreover, his outstanding performance in the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) secured him a place in the top 20, granting him admission to his preferred IIT.
What sets Abhay's achievement apart is his exceptional performance during the interview process at Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.
After being shortlisted among the 9 candidates selected nationwide, he has been given the opportunity to pursue research in this esteemed institution.
Abhay's parents, Kushal Bhardwaj and Vidhu Bhardwaj, both hold positions of influence and have expressed their immense pride in their son's accomplishments.
Despite studying in three different schools throughout his academic journey, Abhay consistently excelled in his studies, from Nursery to 10+2.
His passion for physics led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Physics (Honors) from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, where he achieved outstanding results.
Remarkably, Abhay's success is rooted in his independent study approach.
Without relying on tuition or coaching classes, he dedicated himself to a deep and comprehensive understanding of the subjects he pursued. His focus on genuine comprehension rather than rote memorization propelled him to the forefront of his field.
Abhay's academic prowess has also been recognized with scholarships and financial assistance.
During his time at Delhi University, he received an annual scholarship of INR 80,000, and now, as he embarks on an Integrated PhD program in Atomic and Nuclear Physics at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, he will receive a monthly fellowship of INR 35,000, along with additional funds for books and equipment.
