SARKAGHAT(MANDI)-The academicians here have batted for practical Actions from individuals and organisations to mitigate climate change in the world.
They highlighted this at the two day long international Conference on "Environmental Concerns, Climate Change, and Resource Management in the Western Himalayas" on the occasion of World Environment Day at the Rabindranath Tagore Govt. Degree College Sarkaghat in District Mandi.
The conference, conducted in hybrid mode with online and offline participation, attracted 210 participants from 12 states across the country and online from the globe.
The event featured keynote addresses, plenary sessions, panel discussions, and paper and poster presentations covering a wide range of topics related to environmental concerns and sustainable development.

The inaugural session commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, Dr. Ashith Kumar Mishra, Additional Director, Higher Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.
Dr. Ashith Kumar Mishra stressed the significance of practical actions in combating environmental challenges, particularly urging individuals to reject plastic.
Other notable speakers emphasized the detrimental impact of plastic waste and highlighted the role of literature in promoting eco-consciousness. Solutions for reducing plastic waste were discussed, including segregation and responsible disposal.
