SHIMLA- Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasized the role of art and artists in society and commended the AIAA for its commendable work in the social and cultural sectors over the past six decades.
The governor praised the organization's efforts to strengthen national integration through art and congratulated all the artistes for their outstanding performances.
Governor was presiding over the closing ceremony of the 68th Annual All India Drama and Dance Competition organized by the All India Artist Association (AIAA) at Shimla's Kali Bari Hall
Governor Shukla highlighted the significance of dance and drama in human civilization, noting their ability to transcend language barriers and effectively convey emotions, stories, and ideas.
He emphasized that these art forms have the power to transport individuals to different worlds, evoke deep emotions, and expand the imagination.
During the ceremony, the Governor presented awards to individuals who made exceptional contributions to the field of art.
Prashant Bhagat received the Sudarshan Gaur Life Time Achievement Award, Lokinder Trivedi was honored with the Balraj Sahni Award, and Ashish Pillai and Meenu Chadha received the Gopi Krishna National Award.
Rohitashv Gaur, President of the All India Artist Association, welcomed the Governor and mentioned that approximately 1,000 artists from 20 states participated in the competition, which took place from June 6 to 10 in Shimla. He highlighted that the association has been organizing drama and dance competitions across the country since its establishment in 1955.
Dr. Rekha Gaur, Vice President of the Association, honored the Governor during the event.
