Kullu: In a gesture, Chief Minister Sukhu initiated the process of rebuilding lives for 324 families in Kullu district who had lost their homes due to heavy rains, landslides, and floods this monsoon season.
At a special function held at Kullu's Rath Maidan, CM Sukhu pressed a symbolic button, officially kickstarting a relief initiative that has provided immediate financial support to these affected families.
Each of the 324 families received a significant lifeline in the form of a direct financial aid package, with an initial installment of Rs 3 lakh granted to them.
This marks a total relief fund of Rs 9.72 crores that has been efficiently transferred through a direct benefit transfer mechanism to the beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Sukhu said, "We have allocated this compensation amount exclusively for homeowners whose houses were severely impacted during the natural disaster.
Despite our government's limited resources, we stand strong in our commitment to supporting the affected families and are working diligently to provide every possible assistance."
This initiative not only offers financial relief but also symbolizes a community coming together to rebuild shattered lives and homes.
It serves as a testament to the resilience of the people of Kullu and the dedication of the government to help them during these challenging times.
