Sonam at Fastunto DeathFast and Ladakhis in Delhi

Wangchuk’s Fast Unto Death Hits Fourth Day, RSS Leader Secretly Offers Support.

New Delhi: Ladakhi innovator Sonam Wangchuk, on the fourth day of his *Fast Unto Death* in Delhi, revealed unexpected support from an RSS leader, despite government silence.

Wangchuk, who marched 1,000 km from Leh to Delhi to raise awareness about Ladakh’s demands, resorted to fasting after Delhi police detained him and other Ladakhi leaders, including members of the Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), at the Singhu border.

The Centre had imposed Section 163, barring the assembly of five or more people.

In a powerful video message, Wangchuk shared that despite the heat, mosquitoes, and ants plaguing their protest spot at Ladakh Bhawan, morale remains high.

He said, "A man came late last night, standing far from the cameras. He handed us herbal mosquito repellent and said he sympathized with our cause. He admitted he’s from the RSS but couldn’t openly support us due to his BJP connections".

This gesture showed me that people still value truth and justice, even within the party."

Wangchuk also acknowledged the visit of BJP’s National Vice President and senior leader Naresh Bansal, who conveyed a special message from veteran leader Murli Manohar Joshi.

"These visits give us hope that justice for Ladakh still has some supporters in the party. But until we see action, our demands for talks and the inclusion of Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule remain unmet," he added.

The innovator expressed disappointment that despite prior assurances, no meeting with top central leaders has materialized. "We’ve walked 1,000 km, blistered feet and all, just to be heard.

Meeting us won't diminish the stature of the Prime Minister, President, or Home Minister—it will elevate it. Ignoring us only breaks the spirit of Ladakhis, who protect this country's borders without uniforms or salaries," Wangchuk stated.

While leaders like Brinda Karat, Yogendra Yadav, and Congress members have met him, Wangchuk urged BJP members to support truth.

He said, "If the promises of 2019, written and signed, aren't fulfilled, people will lose faith in the party. My fast this time will last four weeks or until death. We won’t stop until Ladakh’s talks resume."

The protest has garnered widespread support, from schoolchildren to political leaders, but as Wangchuk’s health wanes, the country watches closely, waiting to see if the government will heed Ladakh’s call for justice.
