Shimla- Pradesh Congress President and Member of Parliament, Pratibha Singh, Tuesday assured the people in the tribal region of Pangi that she will engage with the state government to reinstate the subsidy on firewood and fuel wood for all.

Touring the Pangi region of Chamba district today, she  said  the government needs to fill the shortage of officials and employees in tribal areas and urged for an increase in tribal allowances to incentivize service in these regions.

Pratibha Singh, during her two-day visit to the Bharmour constituency within her parliamentary district of Mandi, raised concerns about the deteriorating state of the Udaipur-Kilad road, which is under the jurisdiction of the Border Roads Organization.

She pledged to address the issue with higher authorities of the Border Roads Organization to improve the road's condition.

Addressing the residents' difficulties during heavy snowfall, she called for the construction of a proposed tunnel near Chaheni Pass to ensure uninterrupted road connectivity throughout the year.

She also expressed concern over the poor state of the communication network in the Pangi Valley and stressed the need to strengthen the network. Pratibha Singh plans to hold discussions with officials from BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) to explore possibilities for network improvement in Pangi Valley, Lahaul-Spiti, and Kinnaur.

Highlighting the significance of a robust communication network in people's lives, she emphasized the need for network expansion, calling for collective efforts to achieve this goal.

Pratibha Singh mentioned that she will soon meet with Chief Minister Sukhdev Singh Sukhoo to discuss and find solutions to the problems faced by people in the tribal regions.
