SHIMLA: A meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) was held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary-cum-Chairman of the SEC R.D Dhiman in which the revised guidelines of the State Disaster Fund issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to the state government were approved.

The Chief Secretary directed to all the concerned departments to send the projects as per the guidelines laid down by the Government of India.

Approval was given to formulate an appointment policy for the strengthening of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in which the state Police department would play major role.

The approval was also given in the meeting to 18 projects worth Rs 34.75 crore related to State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF).

R.D Dhiman also reviewed the situation of spread of Lumpy disease in cattle in the state and asked the Animal Husbandry department to take appropriate steps for its prevention.

He said demand has been raised with the Central government seeking the financial relief in this regard.

He directed to prepare an action plan to retrofit two hospitals under the State Hospital Security Scheme.

He asked the Disaster Management department to coordinate in this regard and also advised to prepare rain water harvesting plan in densely populated areas for management of fire incidents.

Special Secretary, Disaster Management Sudesh Kumar Mokhta conducted the proceedings of the meeting.

Principal Secretary, Revenue and Member Secretary SEC Onkar Chand Sharma, Principal Secretary, Health Subhasish Panda, Secretary, Urban Development Devesh Kumar, Secretary, Finance Akshay Sood, Director, Environment Lalit Jain, Director, TCP Kamal Saroch,  Director, Urban Development Manmohan Singh and other senior officers attended the meeting.
