Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the Him Mahotsav at Dilli Haat in New Delhi today.
The event, organized by HimCraft, HPTDC, and the Art, Language, and Culture department, will run from December 17 to 30.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government's efforts to promote Himachal Pradesh's Pahari culture globally, citing the recent display of redesigned Himachali caps in Dubai.
Him Mahotsav aims to provide a platform for state artisans and weavers to showcase and sell their products, fostering economic growth.
The event features 60 stalls, cultural performances by Himachali folk artists, and an opportunity to showcase the state's art, culture, and cuisine.
Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan emphasized the celebration of Himachal Pradesh's art, culture, and cuisine, with Himcraft having successfully participated in international events. Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena outlined the event's objectives, and Jatin Lal, MD of Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation Limited, expressed thanks.
Other dignitaries present included Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, CPS Sundar Singh Thakur, MLA Chaitanya Sharma, Principal Secretary Industries R.D. Nazeem, Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty, and OSD to CM K. S. Banshtu.
