Shimla: Ahead of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s budget presentation, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has cleared new recruitments, urban governance changes, and industrial reforms.
The Cabinet approved 145 new posts in urban local bodies, including 66 in newly upgraded Municipal Corporations, 3 in Municipal Councils, 70 in Nagar Panchayats, and 6 in the Directorate of Urban Development.
It also cleared the 2023-24 CAG report for tabling in the budget session and finalized the Governor’s address for the Vidhan Sabha's 8th session starting March 10.
In healthcare, two senior resident doctors will be hired for the Gastroenterology department at the Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialties, Chamiana, Shimla.
The Cabinet decided that all traditional Katha Bhatti units will now run on IBR boilers and must register with the state’s Chief Inspector of Boilers. These units can process 5,435 to 7,500 quintals of khairwood with bark annually.
