SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, has become the first university in the state to digitize its marksheets, making them accessible via the National Academic Depository (NAD) on the DigiLocker platform.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena said this new step ensures that over 2,000 students can now access and validate their academic records online.

By uploading student progress to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), the university is empowering students with the flexibility to transfer credits between institutions, promoting greater academic mobility.

Why Does This Matter?

Gone are the days of misplaced marksheets and fake certificates. The NAD system, integrated with DigiLocker, guarantees the security and authenticity of academic records.

It also gives students the freedom to download their marksheets anytime, anywhere, straight from their phones. Employers and institutions benefit, too, with quick, fraud-proof verification of credentials.

For HPNLU, this isn’t just a tech upgrade—it’s a leap toward NEP 2020’s vision of a flexible, student-centric education system.

The Academic Bank of Credits is a game-changer, letting students securely store and transfer their academic achievements across institutions, opening doors to endless possibilities in higher education.

Leading the Way

HPNLU isn’t just meeting expectations—it’s setting the standard. As the first university in Himachal Pradesh to implement this system, it’s paving the way for others to follow.

The move reflects the university’s forward-thinking approach, blending education with innovation to create a modern learning experience.

For Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena and her team, the digitization of marksheets is about more than convenience—it’s about empowering students with tools for a brighter, more secure future.
