Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu revealed today that a grand celebration is in the works to mark the completion of one year in office.
The event is scheduled for December 11, 2023, in district Kangra, and will be graced by Senior Congress Party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
Highlighting recent successes, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu mentioned the Congress Party's victory in the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation mayoral election. Looking ahead to the Lok Sabha elections, he assured a strategic approach to contesting all seats in the state.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to transformative governance, the Chief Minister outlined progress on the 10 guarantees, including the restoration of the old pension scheme and the launch of the Rs. 680 crore Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme.
Notably, English will become mandatory in all government schools from the next academic session, part of the state's broader efforts to enhance education quality.
As the government marks its one-year milestone, the focus remains on Vyavastha Privartan (systemic change), incorporating new technologies, innovations, and improved service delivery to accelerate development in Himachal Pradesh.
