SHIMLA- HP PWD minister Vikramaditya Singh met with Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, in New Delhi and asked him for quick approval of several road projects in the state and requested financial support for road development.
Singh asked for Rs 500 crore from the Central Roads Fund to improve and build roads in Himachal Pradesh.
He also wanted nine roads to be declared as National Highways and included in the Bharatmala Pariyojna project, which covers a total distance of 1254 kilometers in the state.
Additionally, Singh requested approval for upgrading a road and constructing a bridge in the Una district.
He also asked for the approval of pending projects and inclusion of various road projects in the Annual Plan 2023-2024.
During the meeting, Singh discussed strengthening the National Highway wing of the State Public Works Development. Gadkari assured Singh of providing necessary assistance to complete the pending projects on time.
