SHIMLA: Ministry of Law and Justice of the Government of India has issued a notification on July 28 today, announcing the appointment of three new judges to the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
The appointed judges- Shri Ranjan Sharma, Shri Bipin Chander Negi, and Rakesh Khaintla, will be taking up their roles in the order of their seniority.
This appointment order comes after the collegium of the Supreme Court of India provided its concurrence and recommended these three candidates as judges in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh.
Shri Ranjan Sharma and Shri Bipin Chander Negi, both are senior advocates with a track record of actively practicing in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, bringing valuable expertise to their new roles as judges.
On the other hand, Rakesh Khainthla, known for his good service as a judicial officer in the lower judiciary of the state, brings years of experience and an understanding of the judicial system.
As per the notification, the appointments will officially take effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
While the exact date of the swearing-in ceremony has not been officially announced, sources indicate that the momentous event is likely to take place on July 31st.
