NEET PG 2024 Exam Chaos: Medical Aspirants Face Last-Minute Hurdles and Unfair Center Allocations.
NEW DELHI/SHIMLA: The NEET PG 2024 exam, set for August 11 in two shifts, has thrown medical aspirants into disarray with abrupt last-minute changes.
Just a month ago, a new normalization formula was introduced, adding to the students' distress.
This follows a previous cancellation of the exam merely ten hours before it was due to begin, reflecting poorly on the National Board of Examination of Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
Medical students, numbering between 1.5 to 2 lakhs, are now grappling with random and inconvenient exam center allocations.
Students from northern regions are being assigned centers in the south and vice versa, forcing them to travel distances of up to 1000 to 3000 kilometers. This is causing immense hardship and stress among the aspirants.
Supported by state RDAs across nation Uinted Doctors Front Association President Dr. Lakshya Mittal has strongly voiced the frustrations of the medical community. "We urge the authorities, government, and health ministry to address this issue seriously".
The NBEMS, responsible for conducting these exams, must be held accountable for this chaos.
"It's their duty to conduct exams systematically and allocate centers that are convenient and chosen by the students," he said.
The call for reform or replacement of the NBEMS is growing louder as the organization continues to subject students to unnecessary turmoil.
It's high time the authorities step in and ensure that such disruptions do not occur in the future, safeguarding the interests of the aspirants.
