Governor Highlights the Holistic Benefits of Yoga at Shimla Seminar..
Shimla- Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasized the deep significance of yoga as he inaugurated a seminar at the historic Gaiety Theater .
Organized by the Dev Bhoomi Seva Sansthan Ashram, the seminar's theme, "Yoga is a Complete Human Philosophy and Yogacharya," drew a wide audience interested in the holistic practice of yoga.
In his address, Governor Shukla underlined that yoga goes beyond mere physical exercises, presenting a profound philosophy that integrates the body, mind, and spirit.
“Yoga is a holistic practice that aims for a balanced and peaceful state of being,” he noted, pointing to its origins in ancient India and its relevance in promoting physical health, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual fulfillment.
Highlighting the growing global embrace of yoga, Shukla credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in popularizing International Yoga Day, first celebrated on June 21, 2015. He expressed hope that yoga would be adopted not just as a physical practice but as a comprehensive way of life, fostering a culture of peace and well-being.
The event saw an insightful presentation from keynote speaker Shrinivas Murthy, who elaborated on yoga's practical benefits.
Additionally, young yoga enthusiast Saksham Thakur, a 10-year-old from Shagin village, captivated the audience with his impressive yoga demonstration, earning special recognition from the Governor.
The seminar also featured welcoming remarks from V.K. Bhatnagar, Chairman of the program, and Lekh Raj Rana, Chairman of the Dev Bhoomi Seva Sansthan Ashram, who highlighted their ongoing efforts to raise yoga awareness through 70 Sanskar Shalas across the state.
Special guest Rajkumar Verma, Chairman of the Sai Eternal Foundation, former minister Suresh Bhardwaj, and other prominent figures were present at the event, celebrating the integration of yoga into daily life for holistic growth and societal harmony.
