Shimla: BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal and Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur today said the BJP would stage protest against the 10 month long tenure of the Sukhu government in Himachal Pradesh, which has failed to deliver on all fronts on September 25 near Vidhan Sabha.
Addressing the media here today Dr. Rajeev Bindal began by highlighting what he described as the Sukhu government's failures during its tenure. He asserted that the Congress-led government had fallen short of the expectations and aspirations of the people.
According to Bindal, development in Himachal Pradesh had notably slowed down since this government came to power, in stark contrast to the progress initiated by Jairam Thakur's administration.
The BJP leader criticized the Sukhu government for reportedly closing down over 1000 institutions in the state and expressed grave concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation.
He mentioned incidents like the Chamba massacre, rapes, firing, and misconduct towards women as examples of the alarming situation, accusing the government of remaining silent on these issues.
Bindal also accused the Congress government of deception, asserting that their promises had fallen flat, and he announced an upcoming BJP protest on September 25th at Ambedkar Chowk near Vidhan Sabha in Shimla.
Jai Ram Thakur, chimed in by characterizing the Sukhu government's 10-month tenure as chaotic.
He pointed out that inflation was on the rise in Himachal Pradesh, with cement prices soaring to twice their normal rates.
Thakur expressed concern over a proposal to increase stamp duty by tenfold, which he believed would burden the people further.
He emphasized the role of Central Government assistance in supporting Himachal Pradesh during these challenging times and accused the state government of an arrogant rule.
In response to these developments,they announced that the legislative party and the BJP would be organizing a massive protest to address what they saw as the need to challenge and rectify the situation in Himachal Pradesh.
