Shimla: BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government, accusing it of tarnishing Himachal Pradesh's reputation with its "complete administrative failure."
On the other hand Bindal's remarks came in a video he released today to the Media after the Himachal Pradesh High Court directed the private power company to recovers its arrears of upfront premium worth Rs 150 Crore by auctioning of state government-run Himachal Bhawan in New Delhi.
The power company had paid the upfront premium of Rs 64 Crore to the state for the 400 MW Seli power project on Chandra river in Lahaul.
But the project was rescind and private company moved the High court which had ordered the refund of the upfront premium of Rs 64 crore. But state government ignored its order and pending arrears shot up from Rs 64 Crore to Rs 150 Crore.
The High court on Monday ordered the attachment of the Himachal Bhawan and directed the power company to recover money by auctioning the government property Himachal Bhawan in Mandi House in Delhi.
The High court has also directed the principal secretary power to conduct fact finding inquiry into the case to bring the erring officers to book.
“This is an unprecedented humiliation for Himachal Pradesh! Never in history has the Hon’ble High Court had to attach government property to recover unpaid dues,” thundered Dr. Bindal.
“This Congress government has not just failed but disgraced the people of Himachal. The court’s order to attach Himachal Bhawan is a black stain on the state, and this stain has been painted by the Sukhu government itself.”
Dr. Bindal didn’t stop there. He tore into the Congress government for its "anti-people policies," claiming it has set records for mismanagement.
“This government has shut down 1,500 institutions that were serving the public – schools, colleges, and even primary health centers. It stopped the Himcare scheme, leaving thousands of patients in the lurch. They’ve brought nothing but suffering to the people of Himachal,” he said.
Referring to bizarre administrative decisions, Dr. Bindal mocked the government’s priorities. “From ordering inquiries into samosas to floating absurd proposals like taxing toilets in homes, this government has turned Himachal into a laughingstock nationally,” he alleged.
The BJP leader claimed the Congress regime has crippled the state's economy, pushing the common man into hardship while indulging in misgovernance.
“Every day, a new disaster. Today, the Hon’ble High Court has taken action. Tomorrow, who knows what humiliation awaits Himachal because of this government’s recklessness,” he said.
Dr. Bindal demanded accountability and urged the Sukhu government to come clean on its financial mismanagement.
"This government owes an explanation to the people of Himachal for its failures. The Congress government has caused irreparable damage to the state’s reputation and economy,” Bindal said.
