Prompted by the bypoll debacle Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today announced that petrol and diesel would be cheaper by Rs 12 and Rs 17 per liter in the state as the state cut the cess on petroleum products after the Centre announced the same measure.

In a Twit Jai Ram Thakur said the cut in fuel prices would give a lot of relief to consumers and general public. The cut in prices had been announced following similar cut announced by the centre.
