Bus Plunges into Gorge in Mandi: Over 25 Injured, Many Rushed to Ner Chowk Hospital
Mandi, – June 17, 2025: A private bus carrying more than 25 passengers veered off the Mandi–Jahu road near Patrighat early this morning and plunged approximately 200 m into a gorge.
Initial official reports indicate at least 20–25 individuals sustained injuries.
Authorities launched an immediate rescue operation, with mountain rescue teams, ambulances, and the NDRF arriving at the site.
Injured passengers were evacuated rapidly and transported to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College & Hospital in Ner Chowk, Mandi, for urgent medical treatment.
Spokespersons confirmed there were no fatalities reported so far, though the severity of everyone’s condition is still being assessed.
A smaller number—17 to 20—are estimated to have sustained moderate to serious injuries, while the rest suffered minor abrasions and bruises .
