Himachal High Court Receives Bomb Threat Again
Shimla:
The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Thursday received another bomb threat, triggering a high-security alert and immediate action by law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Following the threat, the court परिसर was evacuated as a precautionary measure.
As soon as the information surfaced in the morning, bomb disposal squads, police teams, and a dog squad rushed to the spot and launched a thorough search operation across the High Court complex. However, no suspicious or explosive material was found during the operation.
According to official sources, the threat was received through an anonymous email sent to the High Court’s official website early in the morning. After receiving the alert, the court administration promptly informed the police authorities.
Security Measures Tightened
Shimla SSP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place. “As soon as we received information about the threat, strict security measures were implemented. A comprehensive search operation was carried out inside the High Court premises by the bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and local police,” he said.
Police have initiated an investigation to trace the sender of the threatening email. Cyber experts are also assisting in tracking the origin of the message.
Notably, this is not the first time the High Court has received such threats. Earlier too, the court had been targeted twice with similar bomb threat emails, all of which later turned out to be hoaxes.
Authorities have assured that security will remain tight to prevent any untoward incident and to ensure the safety of judges, lawyers, court staff, and the public.
